Kids of the Rock Volunteer Handbook • Black Rock Congregational Church
Welcome to Kids of the Rock!
Hello! You have agreed to take part in a high calling of influencing the next genera-tion for Christ and we are excited to have you on the team. We realize that the most formative decisions that any child makes happen before theage of 12. What this means is that we take our job very seriously because we realizehow important and foundational our role can be in the life of a child. This handbook is your guide to success. Become familiar with the informationinside as it will help you understand what you must (and must not) do. We know that God has given you special unique abilities that can be used to blessa child. Perhaps you are a shepherd who does well at connecting one-on-one.Maybe you are organized and enjoy behind-the-scenes work.My hope and prayer is that all of our gifts together will bless a child and will leadthem to know Christ in a very real and personal way.I Corinthians 12:4-6
There are different kinds of gifts, but the same Spirit distributes them. There are different kinds of service, but the same Lord. There are different kinds of working, but in all of them and in everyone it is the same God at work.
1 Corinthians 12:12-14
Just as a body, though one, has many parts, but all its many parts form one body,so it is with Christ. For we were all baptized by one Spirit so as to form one body— whether Jews or Gentiles, slave or free—and we were all given the one Spirit to drink. Even so the body is not made up of one part but of many.
Your journey begins here. Read this carefully and make sure you know and under-stand what we’ve included.May you be a joy to the children you come in contact with, and may our childrencome to know Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior.Sincerely,Kent CurrieDirector of Kids Ministry Black Rock Church
