Read It.
Begin your family time together by reading the Easter story found in Matthew 28:1-10. Ask each other what you remember about:Stone AngelRaisedMessage
Fun Fact:
In Bible times, it was commonfor the stones used to close tombs to weigh
two tons
. That’s like having two largeelephants sit in front of the tomb and refuseto move!
Pray It.
Say this prayer together:
Father, thank you for sending your Son, For raising him up Against death he won. Father, thank you for sending your Word, For raising us up,Good news we have heard. Amen.
Talk About It.
How did Jesus’ followers know he was risen? Who is someone in your life who reallyneeds to hear the good news about Jesus? How can you help them to hear? Some of the best known hymns are about Jesus’ resurrection. What is your favoritesong about the resurrection, and why?Find a few favorite verses about Jesus. Tapethe reference for each Bible verse to thebottom of clear dinner glasses, with thewords facing toward the top rim of theglass. After dinner, once everyone hasfinished their drink, they can look throughthe bottom to see the verse. Have everyoneread their Bible verse and then talk abouthow each verse teaches us about Jesus.
Live It.
Throw a “Jesus is Alive” party. Invite friendsand family who love Jesus. Make bannerswith Bible verses about Jesus fordecorations, and play a special game of Hide and Seek. Have everyone hide exceptone person who will play the part of ‘Jesus’.Invite ‘Jesus’ to carry a basket of wrappedsurprises (candy, small toys) as he or shehunts. When ‘Jesus’ finds each person, he orshe can shout, “Surprise! I’m alive and Ilove you!” and give that person a surprisefrom the basket.
For younger kids.
Make a card for someone you’ve never met. Ask your parents or pastor to help you findthe name of someone you don’t know, thensend that person a card that tells them allabout the good news of Jesus.
For older kids.
Use a digital camera to take picturesthroughout the week of things that remind you that Jesus is alive. Use the pictures tocreate a slideshow titled “Jesus Alive in My World.” Share the slideshow with yourfamily and friends!

We are taught that if weare going to be responsibleadults, we must handle ourbusiness. We have to takecare of the things thatneed to be taken care of. As a Christian, "taking care of business" meanspraying about ourbusiness. It means giving itto God and letting Himguide our actions. We giveHim the control, and thenwe do what He tells us todo. A couple of days ago, Iwoke up in the middle of the night with my mindracing about things going on at work, in my variousministries, and at home. Ispent the next two hourswith those thoughtsrunning through my head.I finally fell asleep about20 minutes before thealarm went off and thenspent the next hour trying to wake up. My night hadbeen shot. Why? Because Iwas trying to figure out thebest way to handle theseissues myself, instead of giving them to God. OnceI woke up and realizedwhat I had done, I prayedabout them. God onceagain proved to be faithful, and He guided methrough the things I had todeal with that dayThere is a lot in this worldthat we are not in controlof, but God is. Theresponsibilities of theworld never stop coming in; they never stophounding us. AsChristians, the responsibleway of handling them is bygiving them to God inprayer, listening for Hisanswer, then following Hisadvice. I want toencourage you to make ahabit of praying about theissues you are facing in your life. Learn to castthese concerns on Godand learn to listen to Hisguidance. As we do this,He guards our hearts andminds, which not only hasa great effect on thequality of our spiritual andphysical life, but also onthe quality of our sleep.Be responsible and sleepwell, my friends.

Cast all your anxiety on Him because He cares for you.~1 Peter 5:7 (NIV) Rejoice in the Lord always. I will say it again: Rejoice! Let your gentleness be evident to all. The Lord is near.Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.~Philippians 4:4-7 (NIV)
