Positional Release Technique
‡The commonality of all of theseapproaches is that they move the patientor the affected tissue away from anyresistance barriers and towards position of comfort.
‡If this method is applied to chronically fibrosedtissue the result produce a reduction inhypertonicity, but would not result in anyreduction in fibrosis.‡Pain relief or improved mobility may thereforebe only temporary or partial.

one of the firstobservations made by Jones was that aposition of comfort or ease, commonly was anexaggeration of whatever adaptive distortionpattern were present.
‡The tissue which were already shortened were madecomfortable by being supported in an even shorter state, so allowing neurological and circulatorymechanisms in resolution of dysfunctional state.2.
