The objective of this tutorial is to help you perform Interactive Simulations with PSIM
We will look at the real time values of Vm and Vcarr while running the simulation and
changing the gain of the PI Controller block
Note: this tutorial can be used with the demo version of PSIM.

Hereafter are the different steps to perform Interactive Simulation:
2. Open the file “average current-mode.sch” given with your PSIM version

3. Go to the menu [Elements] -> [Other] -> [Probes] -> [2-channel scope]
Then place and wire your scope to Vm and Vcarr as shown in the picture below:
Note that you can choose “1-channel Scope” if you want just to see one curve

4. Open your “Simulation Control” and tick “free run”
“Free run” means that the simulation will run continuously, to make you see the real time
values of your curves
5. Double-click on your scope and then run the simulation: you will be able to see the
curves as shown below.

6. To see the influence of the gain of your PI Controller block, right click on the PI
Block, choose “Runtime Variables” and then “Gain”

7. Then on your circuit, next to the PI Controller, you will see a number:
Clicking on this number will enable you to change its value and observe on the scope
the influence on your curves.
Note that you can see this example already done for you in the example folder of PSIM
[Example] -> [dc-dc] -> [Scope buck i_loop]
