The suction and discharge flanges are according
to DIN 2501 PN 10 or 16.
Shaft Seal
Bearing Assembly
Impeller
The NB and NK pumps are designed with a
"back-pull-out" system. In both models, the
impeller can be removed without dis-mantling
the pump housing or pipework.
NB and NK pumps can be supplied with a
bronze impeller which enables further
applications and extends pump life – even
under high salinity conditions where rust is a
serious threat.
TECHNICAL DATA GRUNDFOS NK
A thrower on the shaft prevents liquid from
entering the bearing housing.
In stuffing box versions the shaft is protected by a
stainless steel sleeve at the shaft seal. The stainless
steel shaft will resist corrosion for the life of the
pump.
The standard version is provided with a mecha-nical
Burgmann shaft seal according to DIN 24 960,
Grundfos type BAQE. Depending on pumped liquid
and operating conditions other types and stuffing
boxes are available.
Back-to-back double mechanical shaft seals, and
"quench", are available for all variants on request.
The bearing assembly includes two sturdy anti-friction
bearings. Oversize pumps with shaft d5 = 55 mm
however, have open bearings with grease nipples.
All the NK pumps according to DIN 24 255 are covered
by only four sizes of shaft, shaft seal and bearings, and
the oversizes by an additional three sizes.
Due to the ample sizes of the bearings and shaft the
NK pumps can be driven by a belt drive, belt variator or
a diesel engine, if required.
The bearings are designed for a life-span of minimum
20,000 hours under normal load. The bearings are
lubricated for life.
