Assignment 1: Prevalence Rates

With there being no “gold star” method used to classify students with having bully behavior
involvement types I would like to know you opinion of what method to use. You will be
discussing your findings to the assignment and your opinion during class.

To help formulate your thoughts around this concept please complete Assignment 1.

Directions for Assignment 1: Please open the excel file to find 5 participants’ scores to a 12
item survey regarding their experience being a victim. The scores will range from 0-4 indicating
the behavior has never occurred to the behavior occurs daily. You should to classify these
participates as either being a victim or being uninvolved. Use the following classification
systems: Standard Deviation Cut off Scores, A Cut-off Score of 2.5 over the mean, Seven of
More Behaviors at least once or twice a year, Two Behaviors Occurring Weekly, At least One
Behavior occurring weekly, and at least one behavior occurring Monthly. (To use the Standard
Deviation Cut off Scores and A Cut-off Score of 2.5 over the mean you must first find the
total and then the average or standard deviation.)
