EncampmentSchedule
havetheencampmentexperiencenecessaryforthecom~pletionoftheportionofthecadettrainingleadingtotheGeneralBillyMitchellAward.ThesecadetswillthenbeeligiblefortheNationalSpecialActivi-ties.Recruitingandretentionofcadetsinthelocalsquadronisenhancedbytheopportunitytoattendanencampment.Unitcommandersshouldencouragetheirmemberstoattendandhelptheunitmeetitsgoals.Priorityshouldbegiventofirsttimecadets.Thiswillgivethemtheopportunitytoapplytheknowledgetheyhaveacquiredinsquadrontrainingprograms,todevelopagreaterunderstandingofCAPanditscapabi-lit;i.es,andtodeveloptheirpotentialasfutureaero-spaceleaders.Thefortyhour,encampmentcoursewillcover.

IknowtheparticipantswerepleasedwiththeaccomodationsandenjoyedtheoutstandinghospitalityshownbythepeopleofTampaDearDick,Iwanttoexpressmy'appreciationtoyouandtheFloridaWingfortheoutstandingteamwhichFloridasenttothe1978SERCadetDrillCompetition.AllofthereportsIhavereceivedarepositive.Thevolunteersweremostenthusiasticandthemanyhoursthatwentintothepreparationwereextremelyrewarding.Althoughtheydidnotwin
it,
theycanallbeproudoftheoutstandingmannerinwhichtheyconductedthemselves,thefineshowingtheymadeinthecompe-tition,andoftheirgoodsportsmanship.TheyverywellrepresentedFloridaandyoucan
