MOP for BSC Board switchover

Please ensure that whenever you are performing board switchover in

BSC you have to take following precautions:

1. GXPUM:

Step1->switchover active board, please wait for that board to come

up
Step2->Check the status on board, it should be green.
Step3->check the active alarms in the BSC and for BTS.
Step4->if some alarm is there then contact BO
Step5->if there is no alarm then please do the call testing by
initiating 5-10 calls.
Step6->Then again switchover the active board and follow the
steps mentioned above again.
Step7->And do the call testing 5-10 times.

2. GXPUT:

Step1->switchover active board, please wait for that board to

come up.
Step2->Check the status on board, it should be green.
Step3->check the active alarms in the BSC and for BTS.
Step4->if some alarm is there then contact BO
Step5->if there is no alarm then please do the call testing by
initiating 5-10 calls.
Step6->Then again switchover the active board and follow the
steps mentioned above again.
Step7->And do the call testing 5-10 times.

3. GSCU:

Step1->switchover active board, please wait for that board to

come up.
Step2->Check the status on board, it should be green.
Step3->check the active alarms in the BSC like unavailable sub
rack or board faults.
Step4->if some alarm is there then contact BO
Step5->if there is no alarm then please do the call testing by
initiating 5-10 calls.
Step6->Then again switchover the active board and follow the
steps mentioned above again.
Step7->And do the call testing 5-10 times.

4. GTNU:

Step1->switchover active board, please wait for that board to

come up.
Step2->Check the status on board, it should be green.
Step3->check the active alarms in the BSC like unavailable sub
rack or board faults.
Step4->if some alarm is there then contact BO
Step5->if there is no alarm then please do the call testing by
initiating 5-10 calls.
Step6->Then again switchover the active board and follow the
steps mentioned above again.
Step7->And do the call testing 5-10 times.

5. GGCU:

Step1->switchover active board, please wait for that board to

come up.
Step2->Check the status on board, it should be green.
Step3->check the active alarms in the BSC and for BTS.
Step4->if some alarm is there then contact BO
Step5->if there is no alarm then please do the call testing by
initiating 5-10 calls.
Step6->Then again switchover the active board and follow the
steps mentioned above again.
Step7->And do the call testing 5-10 times.

6. GOIUB/GEIUB:
 Step1->switchover active board, please wait for that board to
come up.
Step2->Check the status on board, it should be green.
Step3->check the active alarms in the BSC and for BTS.
Step4->if some alarm is there then contact BO
Step5->if there is no alarm then please do the call testing by
initiating 5-10 calls.
Step6->Then again switchover the active board and follow the
steps mentioned above again.
Step7->And do the call testing 5-10 times.

7. GOIUT/GEIUT:

Step1->switchover active board, please wait for that board to

come up.
Step2->Check the status on board, it should be green.
Step3->check the active alarms in the BSC for ATER/ATER
signaling
Step4->if some alarm is there then contact BO
Step5->if there is no alarm then please do the call testing by
initiating 5-10 calls.
Step6->Then again switchover the active board and follow the
steps mentioned above again.
Step7->And do the call testing 5-10 times.

8. GOIUA/GEIUA:

Step1->switchover active board, please wait for that board to

come up.
Step2->Check the status on board, it should be green.
Step3->check the active alarms in the BSC for MTP3 link/SS7
signaling
Step4->if some alarm is there then contact BO
Step5->if there is no alarm then please do the call testing by
initiating 5-10 calls.
Step6->Then again switchover the active board and follow the
steps mentioned above again.
Step7->And do the call testing 5-10 times.

9. GFGUG/GEPUG:
 Step1->switchover active board, please wait for that board to
come up.
Step2->Check the status on board, it should be green.
Step3->check the active alarms in the BSC for data services.
Step4->if some alarm is there then contact BO
Step5->if there is no alarm then please do the data testing by
initiating 5-10 data sessions.
Step6->Then again switchover the active board and follow the
steps mentioned above again.
Step7->And do the data testing 5-10 times.

10.GEHUB/GFGUB:

Step1->switchover active board, please wait for that board to

come up.
Step2->Check the status on board, it should be green.
Step3->check the active alarms in the BSC and for BTS.
Step4->if some alarm is there then contact BO
Step5->if there is no alarm then please do the call testing by
initiating 5-10 calls.
Step6->Then again switchover the active board and follow the
steps mentioned above again.
Step7->And do the call testing 5-10 times.

After all the boards is switchover successfully then please check the
critical alarms in the BSC if any.
