1.PURPOSE.
To outline the requirements for managing and controlling lifting operations duringconstruction activities on all SECL Projects.
2.SCOPE.
This procedure applies to all operations involving the use of all lifting operations.The general requirements for this procedure apply to all lifting operations,irrespective of weight and complexity of arrangements.
3.RESPONSIBILITY.
3.1Site Manager.3.1.1To ensure that all lifting operations are adequately planned and executed and thatall lifting equipment used on site conforms to this procedure.3.2Site HSE Manager.3.2.1To liase with all members of the Site Management Team, Supervisors and Sub-contractors on the planning of all lifts including erection, certification andmaintenance of all lifting appliances.
3.2.2
To ensure that all persons involved in the lifting operations are competent andsuitably trained in HSE matters for the operations to be performed.3.3Lifting Supervisor.3.3.1To ensure that the crane operators carry out their duties safely.
3.3.2
To carry out the assessment of the lifting operation to provide such planning,selection of crane(s), lifting gears and equipment, instruction and supervision asnecessary for the task to be undertaken safely.3.3.3To ensure that adequate inspection and maintenance of the equipment has beencarried out.
3.3.4
Qualifications to be reviewed and approval given by Owner for designation of ‘LiftingSupervisor’3.4Lifting Operators.
3.4.1
To be responsible for the correct operation of the crane in accordance with the
