The purpose of this procedure and guidance information is to outline therequirements for managing, maintaining and controlling the use of plant andequipment during construction activities on SECL Projects.
This procedure applies to all plant and equipment used by SECL and their Subcontractors.To be used by members of the SECL Project Management Team, Supervisors andSubcontractors personnel who are responsible for supervising the control andmaintenance of Plant and Equipment.

That suitable arrangements are in place to ensure that plant and equipmentintroduced to site is to as high a standard as is practicable.
That arrangements are in place for ongoing systems of Inspection and maintenance.
Employment of the services of a competent person to carry out and administer thisprocedure and other relevant procedures applicable to Plant and Equipment.3.1.4These arrangements are in place and working effectively.3.1.5That arrangements are made and implemented for the issue of certificates for plantand equipment brought to site.
3.2.1Shall ensure that Subcontractors are employing only operators and drivers who arecompetent and authorized to operate the plant and equipment they are assigned to.3.2.2Shall ensure that a register of all plant and equipment is kept on site.3.2.3Shall review the equipment schedule with the Subcontractors and satisfythemselves that correct equipment is being introduced and used on site.
3.3.1Subcontractors including their sub-subcontractors are responsible for the provisionand maintenance of plant and equipment introduced to site.
