1. PURPOSE.
This procedure has been developed to outline the requirements for managing andcontrolling the waste management systems to be applied on SECL Projects.
2. SCOPE.
To be used by members of the SECL Project Management Team, Supervisors andSubcontractors responsible for monitoring and controlling construction wastedisposal.
3. RESPONSIBILITY.
3.1Project HSE Manager.That suitable arrangements, including subcontractors are in place to ensure theconsignment and disposal of waste material. These arrangements shall include ;3.1.1To Daily monitor site conditions to ensure that any remedial actions areimplemented.
3.1.2
To satisfy himself that waste material removed from site is reaching the landfill areaor incineration facility and is not being ‘fly tipped’ or causing environmental damage.3.2General service Co-ordinator.3.2.1To maintain in a register for logging all waste materials from site by the responsibleparties.3.3Subcontractors.Subcontractors including their subcontractors are wholly responsible for ensuringthat the arrangements provided for on site are being followed and adhered to.They will specifically :3.3.1To assign responsibility within their organization for the control and elimination of waste material.3.3.2To monitor and maintain an audit trail of the arrangements in place for controllingwaste management.
