At the Summit, we’re striving to climb to new heights with Jesus. These five devotionals are suggestions of activities to do as a family to help your family
to climb closer to Jesus together at home during the week. This tool is intended to help you lead a family worship time. Please go to God in worship as a
family on a regular basis even if you do not use this resource. If your family completes one of the devotionals parents can initial in the boxes below and
the child will receive a buck for every devotional completed.

Devotional One, Read: Read the following verse about the
Church being Jesus’ body.

10:15-17; 2 Corinthians 5:9-11; Ephesians 3:5-7; Ephe-
sians 4:11-13; Ephesians 5:22-24; Colossians 1:24
Devotional Two, Pray: Jesus prayed and He was con-
nected to God the Father because Jesus is God. We are
connected to Jesus because we are part of the same body.
Jesus taught His disciples a good way to pray in Matthew
6:5-14. Use this model prayer and pray to Jesus today.
You are connected to Him if you know Him as your savior.

Devotional Three, Mold: Paul taught that being in the
Body of Christ meant going in the same direction/having
the same goals. This means that we’re in need of the Lord
working in us to give us the same goal. He’s molding us all
at the same time to help us do what it is He’s called us to
do. Make a body out of playdough. Separate the legs and
arms and make them go in different directions. Now, put
them all together and make them go in the same direc-
tion. Ask the Lord to help you go in the direction He is
leading.
Devotional Four, Build: Build a scene from Genesis 11:1-9
using Legos, Duplos, Mega Blocks, or some other kind of
building toy. See if you can use these blocks to get all of
the details right. Talk with your parents about how this
story might relate to the one we learned on Sunday.

Devotional Five, Sing: I love hymns. Hymns are songs
that people might have been singing for hundreds of
years. One of my favorites is “What a mighty God we
serve” With your parent’s help, look up this song on the
internet or in a hymn book. See if you can find the story
behind the song. Talk about this song and what it means.
A good resource is “www.cyberhymnal.org,” you can listen
and read the lyrics and read about the hymn. See if you
can sing the hymn once you’re finished learning about it.
Devotional Six, Serve: Being a part of the body means
serving others. We should serve those who don’t know
Jesus but we also should serve one another. Think about
someone at church that you can encourage this week.
Write them a note thanking them for what they do (a Sun-
day school teacher, AWANA teacher, etc.) Tell them that
you’re glad they’re a part of the body of Christ here at Lost
Mountain Baptist Church.
