This study was conducted on surveying the number of Public Health


researchers in Thailand and developed the database to be the center of their
networks for sharing the knowledge and experiences through online channel.
20,000 Constructed questionnaires were distributed through 5 regional
representative and followed up by e-mail and telephone. 2582 researchers were
collected from all over Thailand. The study revealed that 63.51% of researcher was
the academic personnel. 35.63% was the local wisdom and the rest was the foreign
researchers (0.86%). The data were categorized into 5 regions as follow: 41.53%
was the researchers of central region, northern region was 20.61%, northeastern
region was 17.62%, southern region was 14.45%, and eastern region was 5.79%.
Moreover, the data showed that among those researchers, their expertises
were not only in Public Health but the other field as well especially the knowledge
and experience in information technology. By this view point the study could
expanded to construct the e-community to share the experience and knowledge
through on line community.
