I am privileged to serve with some great men andwomen. Men and women who do what ordinaryAmericans are incapable of doing. But what reallyimpresses me is the care and concern they have for one another.A year ago a young Marine mother lost her baby boyafter only a few months of having this bundle of joyin her life. It was a devastating loss, but she put onher game face and soldiered on. As the baby’s first birthday neared it was not an easy time for his Mom.But then her Marine family stepped in. One soon to be father of twins organized a birthday party for her little boy. I’m sure there are some know-it-allsout there who would be flabbergasted at thisidea, but it worked magic. As her Marinefamily sang ‘Happy Birthday’ tears were shed, memories of a precious little boy who broughtso much joy into the world were shared andeveryone present went away a little richer for being there. I know I did.If you shed a little tear at the thought of this or smiled your life was made richer too by the2d MLG (Fwd) family of Marines and Sailors.Semper FiChaps
