For the preliminary task we were instructed tocomplete a Chew Valley School magazine. Iselected sport as my main topic in themagazine, and focus on sixth form football.First of all I decided to choose which stillpictures I wanted and which action shots. As Iwas doing a sporting magazine I needed theaudience to feel connected and feel almost onthe field with the athletes. I needed to do thisas I considered that my target audience wouldconsist of younger pupils, who would aspire tothe older athletes and want to be in the newsixth form basketball team.
All the magazines that I researched usedaction shots. They were grabbed myattention more than the ones with stillshots. Each magazine makes you feel as if you want to be involved in the magazineand the sports. The bold fonts and coloursused are interesting to look at. I feel that if Iincorporated these eye grappingtechniques I would be able to create asuccessful sporting school magazine.
