Growth and development is influenced by genetic factors (from the children themselves) and
environmental factors (from parents, etc.).
Three first year of life, is a very important period for physical growth and development
(intelligence, motor skills, mental, social, emotional) is very rapid. In this age of so-called
"Golden Age". Therefore, it is important for mothers to provide the best nutrition for children
since the beginning of life.
At the beginning of life, babies need adequate nutrition for growth, so as to optimize the entire
process of growth. Breast milk is a complex biological fluid which contains all the nutrients that
the body needs children. Its very easily absorbed by the baby's body, making it the main
nutrients that best meets the requirements for infant growth and development.
Broadly speaking, the basic needs of children to grow flowers are grouped into 3 groups:
Whereas the physical needs-biomedical (growth) is fulfilled can be seen from the weight gain,
body length and head circumference. Normal growth of a baby until the age of 6 months can be
achieved simply by breastfeeding alone. Furthermore, over the age of 6 months may be granted
Complementary feeding (solids) to be continued breastfeeding until the age of 2 years or more.
Based on growth curves published by the National Center for Health Statistics (NCHS), the
baby's weight will be increased two fold from birth weight at the age of 6 months and increased
three-fold from birth weight at the age of 12 months. Weight babies who are breastfed
exclusively, generally rises quickly but slower than babies who did not receive exclusive
breastfeeding. According to research, weight infants who received breast milk lighter than
infants who received formula milk until the age of 6 months. This does not mean that a greater
weight in infants who received formula milk is better than babies who are breastfed. Excess
weight in infants who received formula milk instead happen signifies obesity. Obesity can last up
to growing up later. The breast-fed babies do not have to worry about obesity, because breast
milk the baby's body needs to adjust itself.Normal growth curve is a curve of infants who
received breast milk, ie a curve which has been introduced by WHO. The length of the body
reflects the diet and health of children. The pattern of feeding in infants, will affect the length of
limb length is the main component. When infants, lower leg growth faster than other body
parts. Therefore, it is important for mothers to establish and regulate the diet of children from
infancy.Research shows that children who breastfed their babies at the time was significantly
higher than children who received formula milk.
Why breast milk is the best nutrition for a child's brain growth and developments?Because the
milk contained a higher fat content than milk formula. This high fat content required to support
rapid brain growth during infant. During birth, the baby's brain is not fully developed, and will
continue to grow and develop, then make the important relationships that exist between cells
until about 3 years after birth. If this process is complete, the brain cells will die and no new cells
are formed.
Fat that is found in breast milk that is fat omega 3 and omega 6. In addition, breast milk contains
long chain fatty acids, among others dokosaheksanoik (DHA) and arachidonic acid (ARA). Milk
also contains fatty acids saturated and unsaturated in the levels of a balanced, unlike formula
milk contain more saturated fatty acids. Consumption of saturated fatty acids in significant
amounts, can reduce heart and blood vessel health.
ASI also meet the needs of affection / emotion (development), will increase the bond between
mother and baby. This is important because it played a role in determining the child's behavior
in the future, stimulate children's attention to the surroundings, stimulating the brain
development of children and indirectly, will increase the sense of self-confidence of children that
is formed from a sense of security and comfort during feeding.
Outline, growth and optimal development of children who require nutritional support and
adequate stimulation. Breastfeeding can meet all the needs of these children to grow flowers in
full. Not merely to gain weight / make the child "chubby" but also gave the "nutrition" to the
brain, stimulates the brain that automatically provide for the development of skill, intelligence,
mental, emotional and social development. What about nutrition in the first 3 years of life this
child will indirectly determine the success of children as adults later.
Breast milk meets all the needs of caring, compassion, grindstones children. Not only significant
weight gain but also increases the integrity and credibility since early childhood.
