Impact:
The effect of using cupronickel alloys and bacterium will suppress the population and spread of zebra mussels.
Cupronickel alloys attached to water transportation will basically support them from having zebra mussels stuck on them. This will help the transport users with fewer distractions of mussels slowing down the transport or having them stuck in the motor. Also, this use of alloy will lower the chances of zebra mussels spreading into new unpopulated areas of zebra mussels.
As for the bacterium it will decrease the population of zebra mussels making a more balanced biodiversity. Zebra mussel's main food is algae and it has already dominated this food chain making a hard time for other native mussel. Killing the zebra mussels will give a more balanced food chain of algae to the native mussels; resulting in a more balanced bio diversity. Clearing out a lot of the zebra mussels will also help the prevention of damage on water transportation, harbors, power plants, and water treatment facilities. Killing a lot of the mussel will stop one of its impacts on lakes which are water filtering. Without this the lakes water will be less clear but the process of the zebra mussel filter requires eating algae which is bad.
