Pembelajaran Teks Narrative
Definition: Narrative text is a kind of text which is used to amuse and to deal with problematicevents which lead a crisis and on turn finds a resolution.(
 Naratif teks adalah salah satu jenis teks yang digunakan untuk menghibur danberkenaan dengan peristiwa-peristiwa yang meninmbulkan masalah yang menyebabkan sebuah krisis yang pada akhirnya menemukan penyelesaian
)Social Function/Purpose:To entertain the listeners or readers with a true experience or an imaginary one.(
Untuk menghibur pendengar atau pembaca dengan sebuah pengalaman nyata atau pengalaman yang bersifat khayalan
).Generic Structure:
-Orientation => it is about the opening paragraph where thecharacters of the story are introduced.-Complication => where the problematic events in the story startsand developed.-Resolution => where the problem in the story is solved.Characteristics:-Containing who are in the story, where and when the storyhappened;-Use linking words such as when, with, who etc.-Ending of the story conflict.-Containing a moral value.-Begun with certain phrase such as: once upon a time, one day, longtime ago, etcExample of the analysis of a narrative text
Once upon a time, there was a nervous little chipmunk.She was always afraid that something bad happened toher.
Orientation
One day, she heard a little noise. It was really only anapple that fell to the ground. But the little Chipmunkwas afraid and said “The sky is falling in.” Then she ranaway as fast as she could go. Soon she met an oldbrother Chipmunk, who asked, “Where are you runningto, little Chipmunk?”

And the little Chipmunk answered, “The sky is falling in,and I am running away.”“The sky is falling in?” said the old brother Chipmunk.And he told the story to his brother chipmunk, until atlast there were a hundred brother Chipmunks shouting,”The sky is falling in.”Soon the larger animals heard what the Chipmunkswere saying. The Deer, the Sheep, the Pig, the Camel,the Tiger, and the Elephant began to say, “The sky isfalling in.” Then the wise Lion heard all the noise and wanted toknow what was happening. He stopped all the animalsand asked, “What are you saying?The brotherChipmunks said, “Oh we heard it from that littleChipmunk!” And the Lion said, “Little Chipmunk, whatmade you say that the sky was falling in?” And the littleChipmunk said, “I saw it there near the tree.”“Well,” said the Lion, “Come with me and I will show youhow something”. “Now get on my back.” The Lion tookher on his back, and asked the animals to stay wherethey were until they returned. Then he showed the littleChipmunk that the apple had fallen to the ground. Thismade the noise that had made her afraid. The littleChipmunk said, “Oh, I see. The sky is not falling in.”TheLion said, “Let’s go back and tell the other animals.”Sothey went back. At last all the animals knew that the skywas not falling in.
