Fuel injector mechanism (3) provides the downward force that is required to pressurize the fuel in the fuel injector
pump. Fuel injector mechanism (3) allows fuel to be injected into the combustion chamber.
Force is transmitted from the lobe for the fuel injector on camshaft (7). The force is sent through lifter (6) and to
pushrod (4). From pushrod (4), force is transmitted through rocker assembly (2) and to the top of the fuel injector
pump. Adjustment screw (1) allows setting of the injector lash. Refer to Testing And Adjusting, "Fuel Injector
Adjustment" for the proper setting.
