ASEAN+3 Young Inventors Expo 2011

June 5 to 9, 2011

Background
The event is a follow up of Indonesia’s commitment during the 5th Senior Official
Meeting on Youth (SOMY). Its main purpose is to facilitate and appreciate the creative work of
youth on innovation and technology in the ASEAN+3 region. The Ministry of Youth and Sports
Republic of Indonesia organized this event under the theme, “Appropriate Technology for Better
ASEAN”.
Discussion and information sharing on the matter that encouraged and inspired the young
people to contribute in finding solutions regarding appropriate technology and environmental
issues will be held during the program.

Participant’s Eligibility
• Filipino citizen
• Between 17 to 30 years old
• Must have invented/created alternative energy through appropriate technology
• Interested in youth development
• Physically and mentally fit to travel
• Must be able to converse and write in English
• Former recipients of NYC funded international programs from June 5, 2010 to June 5,
2011 are disqualified to apply.
• Must have a passport valid until at least six (6) months after the date of the departure for
the program
Applicants without any passport details shall not be considered.

Required documents
 Passport copy (save in filename: full name of applicant_passportcopy_AYIE)
 Discussion paper of the invented/created alternative energy through appropriate
technology (save in filename: discussionpaper_invention_AYIE)
 Fully accomplished NYC International Program Application Form (save in filename: full
name of the applicant_AYIE) and the program registration form (save in filename: full
name of the applicant_AYIEregistrationform)
 Curriculum vitae with recent photo(save in filename: full name of applicant_CV_AYIE)

The above documents must be saved in the mentioned filenames and must be sent online.
Strict compliance is required.

Expenses
International airfare will be shouldered by participants. For those coming outside Manila,
participants will also shoulder their own domestic fares. Upon arrival in Indonesia, all expenses
including accommodation, transportation, and meals will be sponsored by the organizer.

Application Process
Online applications will only be acknowledged. The completed application and
registration forms must be sent to the National Youth Commission via email,
internationalprograms@nyc.gov.ph on or before May 15, 2011, 5AM.
