Clashes in Taworga
There were reports, late last night, of clashes between freedom fighters and Gaddafi forces in Timmina. Some
of Gaddafi’s forces have moved, and there is an exchange of fire with heavy weapons; 106mm cannons and
GRAD rockets towards the northern area.
Freedom fighters achieved several victories in Misurata against Gaddafi and his followers. On the morning
of May 11, freeom fighters launched an attack, from every direction, against Gaddafi forces stationed at the
civilian airport and the Air-Force Academy.
At the same time, second group of freedom fighters succeeded in entering the airport and began sweeping it
for Gaddafi forces.
Freedom fighters won a large number of ammunition and weapons, and cars belonging to Gaddafi forces.
Freedom fighters burnt the tanks found inside the academy. Landmine removal experts then began to sweep
the academy. Freedom fighters also secured the Shanteen apartments.

Misurata residents were jubilant at the news that the city has been liberated from Gaddafi's forces, and the
return of normal daily life. Most of areas are still short of electricity, telecommunication and cooking gas.
Misurata hospitals are still short of medicine and medical equipment; and continue to received more and
more wounded each day, due to the fighting and random shelling by Gaddafi forces.
