KRUGER’S TRANSFRONTIER PARK
Southern Africa’s abundant wealth of game parks and nature reserves places it on the podiumwhen it comes to spectacular African scenery, making it a haven for conservationists and natural-ists alike. To ensure a healthy balance for our fragile ecosystems and the economies of the region, the Great Limpopo Transfrontier Park was formed in 2002, creating a park across the borders ofSouth Africa, Mozambique and Zimbabwe. It will link Kruger in South Africa to Gonarezhou inZimbabwe and large tracts of land in Mozambique. Possibly the most pleasing aspect of thisdevelopment (for conservationists) is the fact that animals will be free to roam across habitats astheir natural instincts dictate. From a visitor perspective, it will take some time before infrastruc-ture linking the land in all three countries is available. The TFCA is intended to regulate a naturalecosystem and to facilitate human passage and improve ecotourism.
