Learn Spanish in Denver - Investigation Reveals Main Reasons to Learn Spanish in Denver

People are anxious to learn Spanish in Denver. Why? Well, it just so happens that with around 400 million speakers, Spanish is in a close head-to-head contest with English for the number three place in the list of most spoken languages in the world, after Mandarin and Hindi.

So, strictly speaking in terms of numbers, it makes sense. However, there are reasons why you should consider the option to learn Spanish in Denver. A recent Internet investigation conducted among Spanish students showed exactly why they chose to learn Spanish.

Cultural understanding and/or enrichment

Twenty-two percent of the students surveyed said they wanted to learn more about the Spanish-speaking cultures. Communicating fluently with Spanish-speakers opens a window to what they feel, think, their views on various subjects, etc...Reading magazines, magazine articles, websites, and so on in Spanish contributes to not only learning more about their views, but also promoting understanding among cultures. The world is shrinking due to globalization. The best we can do is try to cooperate and get along; this is in everyone´s best interest.

Hey, it´s fun!

You couldn´t ask for a better motive. Nineteen percent of those who participated in the investigation said this was their main reason for learning Spanish. Just think of all the things you enjoy doing: reading, talking to friends, blogging, catching up on current events...the list is unlimited. You can enjoy all of this and more if you learn Spanish in Denver.

Communicating with people from different countries

Eighteen percent said they wanted to talk to others. The first thing that comes to mind of course is the necessity (sometimes urgency) to speak to Latin Americans or Spanish people. However, we mustn´t forget that people from countries that are not necessarily Spanish-speaking, speak Spanish as a second language, because of geographical proximity, or simply because it´s easier for them that English. Examples abound: Brazilians, Portuguese, Italians, French; their languages have common roots with the Spanish language.

Tourism

Coming in fourth place, we have travel with 16%. Although, you may visit Mexico or Spain, and not have to speak a word of Spanish, it won´t be as great. By communicating in Spanish, you´ll be able to do what most travelers are not even aware of, like the little isolated spots where you can meet the locals and learn about their way of life. And also, quite simply, there are lots of spots in Central and South America where they just DON´T SPEAK ENGLISH! Don´t make the mistake of thinking that since it is a tourist spot, they do. Even if you don´t speak Portuguese, you´ll have better luck in Brazil with Spanish than English.

Need more reasons?

Consider the job/commercial deals you could be missing out on. Or the possibility of getting together with long-lost Spanish-speaking family members. Or simply having the chance to re-connect to your roots. You could have your own personal reasons (hey, I need the school credit). There are countless reasons to learn Spanish in Denver.

Why settle for just speaking one language fluently. Don´t think you won´t be able to learn Spanish. You´ll be underestimating yourself, and missing countless opportunities to study, explore, grow, and ENJOY!
