Includedinthesurveyfindingsarethese21fascinatingfacts   aboutownersofmodernsportingrifleswhorespondedtothe   survey:  
60percentofMSRownersthatrespondedtothestudyown   multipleMSRs,withtheaverageownedbeing2.6.  30percentofallMSRownerspurchasedtheirfirstriflein2009or   2010.  99percentofallMSRownersownedsometypeoffirearmpriorto   theirfirstMSRpurchase.  9outof10ownedahandgunpriortoacquiringtheirfirstMSR,  and34percentofthoseunderage35ownedapaintballgunbefore   owningtheirMSR.  Nearlyhalf(44percent)ofMSRownersarecurrentorformer   militaryorlawenforcementmembers.  51percentofMSRownershaveashooting-rangemembership.  8outofevery10MSRownerspurchasedtheirMSRnew.  39percentofallMSRownerspurchasedtheirmostrecentMSRat  anindependentretailstore,withtheaveragepurchasepricebeing   $1,083.  3outofevery4MSRsmostrecentlypurchasedwerechamberedin
