Description

Laser lipolysis is performed with Smartlipo (Iaserlipolisi),
a medium-pulse Nd:YAG 1064-nm laser
that targets selected areas of fat for destruction. The
technique removes excess fatty tissue by selective
intervention of a laser beam with adipocytes: this
results in disintegration of the adipocyte membranes.
It is a minimally invasive technique, employing a 1mm-
diameter cannula which makes it less traumatic
than conventional liposculpture techniques.
