On the evening of Monday, May 17th,the family of Casey, Sarah, and KierenPrince were having a normal eveningwith friends and family when their livescame to a traumatic stop with a hotwater burn. Casey and Sarah Princeare American missionaries and pastors,living and serving in the township of Ocean View, South Africa, in theSouthern Peninsula of Cape Town. Thefamily was hosting two meetings of people in the community and makingtea for their guests when Kierenunexpectantly pulled a cup of boiling,hot tea on her body. The watersplashed on her face, neck, and chest,covering 22% of her body. Kieren wasrushed to False Bay hospital andstabilized, but moved to Red Cross incritical condition. The family spent aweek in the hospital receiving greatcare of from the Red Cross staff. Afterreceiving the ‘Biobrane’ treatment,Kieren’s face healed quickly, but herchest wounds remained open for over5 weeks until ﬁnally closing with scabs.At 6 weeks out from the burn, Kierenis now working on scar treatment forher chest and a very happy and normalbaby.
