– Due to the growing size of ournursery ministry, On-Call nursery workers will need topermanently report to nursery each week to assist with the nursery.From now on, all needed nursery workers will be listed in theweekly bulletin next to the title “Nursery AM” and “Nursery PM.”Thank you so much for your kind and generous support for thelittle ones and families of the church.
Cedar Senior High Can Collection
- The senior high will bedoing a Pop can collecting event on May 30 to help fund theirmission trip. If you want to donate any cans you can bring them tochurch.

Cedar Jr. High Campout & Hike
– On June 12-15, Pastor Steveand Lynn will take our Cedar Jr. High Youth Group on a camping& hiking retreat to Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore andTahquamenon Falls. Cost: $30. Information & packing list wassent out by email out last week! All interested students and theirparents should register with Pastor Steve or Lynn this week!
ANNOUNCEMENTSYoung Adult Summer Camping Weekend
– On June 10-12, post-high young adults (& graduating seniors) from across the presbyteryare invited to a weekend campout on the back dunes and hardwoodforest of Muskegon State Park in Western Michigan. Pastor Bob VanManen (Little Farms OPC) will join the campers, leading them inBible Study, and prayer time. Little Farms OPC will host the youngadults for the closing worship service and fellowship meal at theirchurch in Coopersville on Sunday morning. Cost of the trip is$25/participant. Summer Quarter for Kids Begins June 12
– From June 12 – July31, our Kids Sunday School will experience some excitingsummertime variety. Our traditional classes for kids will shift gearsinto an 8 week summertime ministry - called
Catechism Club
- forkids who are age 4 through 6
th
grade (just completed) and will meet inthe gymnasium for games, activities, crafts, stories, Bible memoryand catechism studies. This year, our senior high youth group (withhelp from their Sunday School adult teachers!) will lead our summerclub to gain experience for their Navajo Mission Trip on July 22. In
‘Q & A about God 
’, students will learn all about one God in threepersons, that he is everywhere, knows all things, and can do all Hisholy will. Your kids won’t want to miss it.
Cookout/bonfire -
You know it’s summer when you can smellhamburgers on the grill; listen for the slap on the football just beforeit’s thrown “go deep!”; hear the crackle of the bon fire as someunsuspecting person’s ooey-gooey marshmallow drops into the fire –bursting into flame; hear kids’ voices squealing in the background ona warm Saturday evening. Come on over to enjoy sweet fellowshipand relax to all of these sights, sounds, and smells of summer! Youare all welcome at the Baker’s home on Saturday, June 25 from 5:30until…whenever! – The school building will soon bevacant for the summer. However, let’s continue to be goodstewards and thoughtful tenants of the building. Here are a fewreminders:1.
 
Children should neither run nor wander through the schoolbuilding after services. We have a wonderful playgroundwhere that can be enjoyed.2.
 
Please respect all school property stored in the hallway andin classrooms. When in doubt, ask yourself “Would a HCSschool teacher allow a student to do this during a normalschool day?”
Family Life Center in Allendale
- New Board Member Needed!Do you feel God’s calling to get involved in this pro-life cause?We are in need of new board members to help guide the work atthe Family LIFE Center. OPC Tornado Relief Trip
– You are in invited to join of team of 6-7 people using our hands, feet, and chainsaw for the glory of Christ at Rocket City (near Huntsville AL) from Sunday, May 29(in the afternoon) through Friday June 3 (late). God sent a tornadoand He provided an opportunity for you to love people by pickingup the debris. Providence OPC is located in Madison, AL hasinvited a team of volunteers from our presbytery to help clean-upthe debris of the tornado God sent on April 27, 2011. ProvidenceOPC will provide a place to sleep (church floor), a shower (PastorDarren Thole’s apartment), and coordinate with the United Way sowe can help with the people with genuine needs. There will beminimal (hopefully none) out of pocket cost for the trip. Yourbiggest cost will be your donated time but your reward will beeternal. If you are definitely interested in joining the group pleasecontact Dean Bekkering. If you are mildly interested in joining theteam but are unsure about something please give me a call and Iwill attempt to relieve your fears and do what I can to talk you intoit. I plan to have some fun and so should you.
