As a premier Institute in the country, it provides Training, Education, Consultancy, Testing and Information services in the field of Packaging, Graduate Diploma in Packaging through Correspondence Course : ‘The demand for packaging personnel is increasing due to ever enlarging local and export trade and increasing number of packaging users, manufactures, converters. The Institute has started a Distance Education Programme in Packaging Technology to meet the needs of working persons with no formal training in packaging. The course is so designed that it would cover most of the topics of interest to industry & would enable self study for understanding the subject adequately. Programme : The Distance Education Programme is open for students in India, the Asia Pacific region and other countries. The programme is spread over 18 months ‘The course material would be sent to students after registration Model questions would also be sent to the students for getting acquainted with the pattem of examination. Identity cards will be issued to the students and they can avail library reference facilities, from the nearest IIP center. They can contact the co-ordinator at the head office at Mumbai and also at other centers of || P, for any assistance. Eligibility : Degree in Science / Engineering / Technology / Commerce / Arts from recognised university with 1 year working experience or Diploma from recognised technical board in Engineering / technology with 2 years working experience are eligible for the course. Curriculum : The course curriculum is based on the topics related to protection, preservation, distribution, marketing, economics, quality control, laws and regulations connected with packaging, It also covers study of primary materials, ancillary materials, functional and graphic design and machinery in the field of packaging, besides products packaging and packaging management related topics. Course Fee : A student registering for the course will have to pay Rs. 20,000/- (Rupees Thirty Thousand only) towards course fee plus Service Tax @ 10.30% . The fee can be paid in two instalments, Rs. 22,0001- plus Service Tax @ 10.30% at the time of registration and the balance Rs. 8,000/- plus Service Tax @ 10.30% within 6 months of registration, Payment should be made by demand draft drawn in favour of Indian Institute of Packaging For overseas student, fee is US$ 956 (Including Form Fee & Service Tax ) Examination : ‘At the end of the 18 months, an examination comprising of 4 papers of 100 marks each will be conducted. A student also has to submit an essay on a prescribed topic prior to the examination as will be indicated, Certificate : The Distance Educaton Programme is accredited by Asian Packaging Federation. The successful student would be given a cottticale titled "Graduate Diploma in Packaging’ Admission : Application form along with Prospectus and Syllabus can be obtained from any centers of Indian Institute of Packaging, by paying Rs. 100/- (Rs. One Hundred only) by Demand Draft. Admissions for the course are given in November / December every year. The course starts on 1st January every year.
