Foundation of Education 22 May 2010 As a teacher, I’m like a CANDLE It consumes itself to light the way for others Chosen to devote my life to educating, enlightening and broadening the mind of my students.
Molding my students into people they will
become.
Engage my students in the learning process so
they are skillfully frame and solve issues in a social contexts. An institution for instruction of students. The primary role of schooling should be to prepare students for the real world. One of the most empowering and important human experiences. A PROCESS, not a PRODUCT. Searching for the truth and reliable information Knowledge is open ended. Behaviorist Approach Cognitivist Approach Constructivist Approach Using POSITIVE REINFORCEMENT to develop appropriate behavior/skills Using NEGATIVE REINFORCE to decrease inappropriate behaviors/skills This method of teaching let my students be in charge to their own work, actions and behaviors This method of teaching make my student responsible for what they allow themselves to learn the way they think This method of teaching promotes new patterns of thinking Guides the direction of the student inquiry Monitors student exploration The mind is not vessel to be FILLED, but a fire to be IGNITED
I believe that excellence in teaching
originates from a desire to LEARN, and a constant pursuit to maximize one’s ability and to communicate information to others. My teaching philosophy has EVOLVED with each classroom experience. As my views have DEVELOPED, the teaching methods I use have also CHANGED. When I first began teaching in PLC I had limited personal interactions with my students. Over time, I have learned that my teaching is more effective when individual connections are made with my students. This approach creates a symbolic relationship that allows me to see how the students evolve in their INTELLECTUAL DEVELOPMENT, and also teaches me what is effective and where I can improve. Lastly the quest for KNOWLEDGE is one of the primary driving forces in my life. My passion for TEACHING is an extension of my own desire to LEARN, and this passion that fuels my pursuit of excellence in teaching. Thank you
