Mark the dart.• Make short ¼" clips at the cut edgeso the dart.• Use a washable marking pencil orchalk to mark the point o the dart(Figure 1).

Fold dart, right sides together, meetingthe ¼" nips (Figure 2).

Beore lowering the presser oot, pullthe top thread slightly longer than thedart length. Place the abric under thepresser oot, lower the presser oot, andstitch one stitch.

Lay the thread on top o the abric tomark the stitching line between thenips and the dart point.

Set the machine to straight stitch andsew the dart, ollowing the thread guide(Figure 3).

At the end o the dart, turn themachine’s wheel by hand, just barelycatching two or three stitches along thedart old.

Tie the thread by chain stitching,sewing of the abric and allowing thethreads to lock together(Figure 4).

Attach the “tail” to the dart. Sew twoor three stitches; then cut the threads(Figure 5).
