How to use a compass

1. Use a pencil with a rather soft lead such as an HB or 2B.

2. Make sure the pencil is secured properly in the compass (it

does not slide up and down.)

3. Make sure the pencil is almost of an equal length to the

pointy nib of the compass.
4. Hold the nib down on the paper and feel it grip.

5. Holding just the top of the compass let it lightly brush around
in a circular motion to draw a circle.
