The class will be held in the GRPL Adult ComputerCenter on the Lower Level from 6:45 to 8:45 p.m. Basiccomputer skills are required. This class will teach youhow to access Genlias and Zeeuws Archief in English,locate abstracts of vital records and make copies.
WMGS Program Schedule
The following programs will be held in the GrandRapids Public Library in the Ryerson Auditorium.Meetings begin at 1:30 pm, starting with WMGS businessand followed by the speaker. Admission is free andeveryone is welcome! Parking is free at the Library onSaturdays. Remember to have your parking ticketvalidated in the Library’s main lobby. Refreshments areserved after the speaker’s presentation. Books andsupplies may be purchased from the Sales Table beforeand after the programs.

This talk could also aptly be subtitled: “There’s more inIndiana than the Allen County Public Library.” DavidEisen will describe some of the more useful, but largelyunsung, genealogical resources in Indiana, from librariesto museums to personal collections. Like Michigan,Indiana is rich in genealogical history and resources aswell as the dedicated people who know how to use thematerials. We will explore some of these repositories toprovide listeners ideas on new places to search for thoseelusive ancestors.

The Writers’ Workshops are designed to help andsupport each other’s desire to write about our familieswith a kind eye and lots of humor. Everyone is welcome.We informally discuss questions relevant to eachperson’s work, provide helpful, non-judgmental feedback on writer’s current projects and have fun learning abouteach other and our research. July 9-10, 2011Civil War Days at Historic Fort Wayne
Civil War Days is an annual event hosted by theHistoric Fort Wayne Coalition. It is a Civil War re-enactment sponsored to bring back to life the Days of our country’s Civil War for the education of the public.2011 will be the sixth time this event has been held bythe Coalition, though its roots go back to the Civil WarDays hosted by the Detroit Historical Museum in the1980s and early 1990s.
