Open Submission for The Event 2011
The Event is a biennial contemporary visual arts festival run by Birmingham ContemporaryArt Forum, showcasing the best in artist-led activity.BCAF is currently seeking projects from artists and curators in the UK for inclusion in TheEvent 2011, to take place 21 - 30
October.We have bursaries of £1,500 available for projects that will take place in the Eastsidedistrict of Birmingham alongside a programme of exhibitions, events and projects byregional, national and international artists and organisations.Central to The Event this year is
an evening of performance curated by BorisOndreička of Tranzit.org, with a line up of international artists, theorists and musiciansresponding to
The Symposion,
a philosophical text by Plato, concerned with the genesis,purpose and nature of love. The themes in

Application process:
The deadline for submissions is 5pm on Monday 6
June 2011. Proposals received after the deadline cannot be considered.Proposals must include the following information compiled into one document:
Project proposal (maximum 200 words)
Brief biog/CV
Indication of project costs
Supporting materialPlease note that BCAF do not have allocated space for proposals to take place in. Weenvisage proposals will be for temporary, publicly sited work, or that applicants can securespace if needed. BCAF can offer assistance with finding suitable spaces.Bursaries of up to £1,500 are available.
