Nowonyearthreeafteritsfullimplementationin2009,theJobEnablingEnglishProficiencyProgramorJEEPhassignificantlytakenpositiveturnstowardsenhancingeducationthatpromotesalearner-centeredstrategy.Itwasachallengefortheschooladministration,particularlytheLanguageDevelopmentandResourceCentertohavemovedforwardwithoutreservationandinkedaMOAwiththeUSAIDGEMteamacoupleofyearsback.Withthefirstbatchofmorethan300graduateshavingcompletedthetwo-yeartraining,thereisnodoubtaboutthesuccessoftheproject.Acrucialingredientthatunderliesinstructioninthedifferentcareerpathways(nursingandotherhealthalliedcourses,businessprocessoutsourcing,travelandtourism,amongothers)offeredintheJEEPprogramisrecognizingthelearnerasauniqueandindependententity.Allthroughoutthelearningprocessmodulesprovidecomputer-basedinteractivelessonsandsimulationsthatstimulatedynamicexchangeswiththelearnerswhogainmoreself-confidenceastheygoalong.Learningineffectisexperiencedinvarieddegreesandpaceswellappreciatedbylearnersevenwhiletheteachersmonitorclosely.Extensionactivitiesfurtherenrichinstructionastheyaredesignedbyteachersbasedoncontextandcontentofthepathwaychosen.AttheendofthetrainingthelearnersareexpectedtohaveachievedproficiencyintheEnglishlanguageandpositiveattitudeaboutthemselves.JEEPenvisionsaholisticprogramthathonesnotonlythelearner'sEnglishcommunicationskillbuthisfaithinhisownindividualpotentialwhichinturncantransformhisentirefuturebyleapsandboundstocompetesuccessfullyforjobsinhighdemandsectors.TheLDRCthroughtheleadershipofProf.JulieU.CabatohasinitiatedsummertrainingforJEEPteachersinitsefforttostrengthenandexpandtheprogramtobenefitmorestudentsinthefuture.TheprogramissupervisedbytheVicePresidentforResearchDr.MilabelE.HoandisundertheauspicesoftheResearchDevelopmentandExtensionoffice.JEEPWMSUgoesglobal.ThethreeoutstandingJEEPgraduates(1stplaceKentJestoniGabo,2ndplaceJoeJamesAlob,3rdplaceEvanessaVillacrusis)withRobertBarnesoftheUnitedStatesAgencyforInternationalDevelopmentGrowthwithEquityinMindanaotakenlastApril2011.ThephotowaspublishedintheGoldStarDaily,aforeignnewspaper(MoneyMatters,page12,Monday-May9,2011,
