People began raising their voices against nuclear energy and weapons throughout Japan and the world beyond. Germany responded with the clo- sure of all its nuclear power plants, then in Japan, following two major protests in April 10 and May 7, the government released an official request for shutting down Hamaoka nuclear plant - one of the oldest, and most thought to be danger- ous Nevertheless, Japanese government and TEPCO are confining our demands for information disclo- sure, continuously ignoring our anxiety, and leav- ing the matters of evacuation and compensation unsettled. In addition, Japanese government allied with the U.S. government promotes further nuclear re- naissance (exploitation) through nuclear weap- ons, uranium mining, and reactors. The burden of nuclear accidents and radioactive waste manage- ment will always be put on shoulders of the least, powerful — marginalized farmers, fishers, temp workers (freeters), day labors and homeless folks, military and base workers, aborigines/indigenous, Zainichi, Buralcu-min, for- eigners, immigrants and children.
