Twitter buys TweetDeck for $40m

One of the leading lights of East London’s tech community, TweetDeck, has
been bought by Twitter for $40m (£25m), according to reports.
The deal is likely to make 36-year-old founder and chief executive Iain Dodsworth
an instant millionaire.
CNN Money said the sale was closed on Monday, quoting sources close to the TweetDeck organises feeds from Twitter

Twitter is remaining tight-lipped about the deal. Its global PR team put out a tweet late on Monday that said: “For all those
who might be curious, we continue to not comment on rumors.” Mr. Dodsworth was not answering his phone nor emails.
TweetDeck is a piece of software that organises feeds from Twitter and other social networks into columns, making them
easier to read.
Mr. Dodsworth, a former programmer at Prudential and PricewaterhouseCoopers, built the application in 2008, after be-
coming frustrated when he missed messages from friends on Twitter. MORE

Techmeetups.com organises The London Silicon Roundabout Group and provides a platform for start -ups to present
to the group on a monthly basis. Hundreds of start -ups approached us with various type of support from Funding to
Mentorship and from Development to Marketing. Based on this need we decided to launch this program and expect to
filter through 200 start-ups a year to find the 10 best investment worthy companies that will be forwarded to our
Angel & VC Investment partners.

No you can be based anywhere. We have similar programs

What kind of companies would you mentor ?
We invest in early stage Tech start-ups in the areas of
Mobile Apps, Gaming, Web or Software companies that are
going after a big market ... hopefully taking on the world.
What do I get in return ?
Our Investment partners would be expected to pay the stand-
ard market fee for investing in our start-ups. As a mentor you
would be eligible part of this fee.
You may take up a more dedicated position with any of the
start-ups being mentored if they feel you can help accelerate
their process.
