1804-1918.
Professor
Kohn
received
his
doctorate
from
the
German
University
of
Prague,
his
native
city,in
1923.
After
living
in
Paris.
London
and
Jerusalem,
he
came
to
this
country
in
1931
under
the
auspicesof
the
Institute
of
International
Education
and
be-
came
lecturer
at
the
New
School
for
Social
Research
in
New
York
City.
He
was
professor
of
history
at
Smith
College
for
fifteen
years
before
joining
thefaculty
of
the
College
of
the
Cityof
New
York
in
1949.
