Dear Friends,A new coolness in the airtells us that summerisover: it’s time again tofocus all our energies onthe work at hand.In Washington, D.C.,student brothers at theDominican House of Studies— strengthened by the new Academic Center and TheologicalLibrary—have resumed their studies, and thedistinguished Pontifical Faculty has mappedout demanding course work for the academic year. In Cincinnati, at St. Gertrude’s Priory,11 novices have embarked on their novitiate year under the watchful eye of Novice MasterFather Walter Wagner, O.P.Friars throughout the Province of St. Josephare devoting themselves with renewedenergy to a full range of ministries—university chaplaincies, parish work, counseling for the sick, and their overarchingpreaching mission. At the DominicanFoundation’s offices in New York, my staff and I have started a busy fall season of  working with our distinguished Boardmembers and collaborators, continually developing and implementing strategies toidentify and engage new potential friends of the Province. These strands of activity ultimately all striveto accomplish the same goals—attracting new  vocations, providing young men with the bestpossible intellectual and spiritual formation, and preparing a new generation of well-rounded preachers to serve the people of God. I cannot stress enough that theProvince’s machinery, if you will, depends on your prayers and unfailing generosity for itslifeblood.Be on the look-out for the new issue of
, which will soon reach yourmailboxes. You’ll meet Sean Fieler, one of ourdistinguished Board members, as well asBrother Michael Dominic O’Connor, O.P., whohas started his third year of theologicalstudies. We also pay tribute to newly-minted Archbishop Augustine DiNoia, O.P., a Friar of the Province whom Pope Benedict hasappointed Secretary of the Congregation forDivine Worship and the Disclipine of theSacraments.Of course, you can keep up with all the newsof the Province anytime on our Web site. Please be sure to visit it often. It’s an activesite. And do sign up to receive an emailnotification each time a new item is posted.Dear Colleagues:  As the work of the Friarscontinues, never ceasing toinspire us, let us continueour work, which is tosupport the wonderfulactivities of the Brethren.  Anything you can do toidentify potential donors, ormake a gift yourself, we would deeply appreciate.
Sincerely in Christ,Ray Clark PresidentDominican Foundation
