To amend sections 117.091, 2329.66, 2901.02, 2929.18,2929.24, 2929.25, 2929.27, 2929.28, 2951.02,4507.02, 4507.164, 4507.35, 4510.036, 4510.037,4510.11, 4510.12, 4510.14, 4510.16, 4510.161,4510.21, 4510.22, 4510.41, 4511.19, 4511.203,4549.02, 4549.021, and 4549.03 and to enactsections 2746.01, 2746.02, 2746.03, 2746.04,2746.05, 2746.06, 2746.07, 2746.08, 2746.09, and4510.111 of the Revised Code to require the OhioJudicial Conference periodically to adjust thedollar amounts specified in the general exemptionstatute, to provide consolidated references toRevised Code sections that establish costs andfees, other than attorney fees, in the courts ofrecord of this state, to remove the provisionspecifying that an investigator appointed by theAuditor of State does not have the power andauthority to carry a concealed weapon, to modify123456789101112131415161718

BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF OHIO:
Section 1.
That sections 117.091, 2329.66, 2901.02, 2929.18,2929.24, 2929.25, 2929.27, 2929.28, 2951.02, 4507.02, 4507.164,4507.35, 4510.036, 4510.037, 4510.11, 4510.12, 4510.14, 4510.16,4510.161, 4510.21, 4510.22, 4510.41, 4511.19, 4511.203, 4549.02,4549.021, and 4549.03 be amended and sections 2746.01, 2746.02,2746.03, 2746.04, 2746.05, 2746.06, 2746.07, 2746.08, 2746.09, and4510.111 of the Revised Code be enacted to read as follows:29303132333435
Sec. 117.091.
For the purpose of discharging the duties ofthe auditor of state, the auditor of state may appoint anyinvestigators that are necessary. The auditor of state shall notappoint a person as an investigator under this section unless theperson holds a valid certificate from the Ohio peace officertraining council. While engaged in the scope of the investigator'sduties in enforcing this chapter, an investigator appointed underthis section has all of the powers and authority of a peaceofficer under the laws of this state, except for the power andauthority to carry a concealed weapon.36373839404142434445

may hold property exempt from execution, garnishment, attachment,or sale to satisfy a judgment or order, as follows:4748(1)(a) In the case of a judgment or order regarding moneyowed for health care services rendered or health care suppliesprovided to the person or a dependent of the person, one parcel oritem of real or personal property that the person or a dependentof the person uses as a residence. Division (A)(1)(a) of thissection does not preclude, affect, or invalidate the creationunder this chapter of a judgment lien upon the exempted propertybut only delays the enforcement of the lien until the property issold or otherwise transferred by the owner or in accordance withother applicable laws to a person or entity other than thesurviving spouse or surviving minor children of the judgmentdebtor.
