Known Issues
There are a few known issues with the enclosed information that we are currentlyworking to fix:
Statewide organizations, events, policies, etc are currently not listed.
Bicycling events and trails which cross into multiple districts are currently onlylisted within single district.
The crash data reflected within this document lists up to five possible injurycategories. If no injuries occurred locally within a district in a particular category, the field doesnot show up in this report. This may make the
Total Number of Accidents
field appear to be off in certain districts since certain fields may not appear. There were indeed 2027 bicycle/autoaccidents in Michigan in 2009. The accurate statewide total information that should bereelected in every individual district report is the following:
Injury Type Statewide Total
A - Incapacitating Injury202B - Nonincapacitating Injury645C - Possible Injury797Fatal19No Injury364
Total Number Accidents
2,027The League of Michigan Bicyclists will continue to improve this document andincorporate additional datasets and refine how we geocode information. We hope you find it be a useful snapshot of bicycle activity within the state and hope itserves as a basic barometer of where additional improvements can be made.
