Chapel Chimes is the story of how God has led and provided His great grace, power of healing, and leadership in the lives of three people. Although an autobiography, the story cannot be told without the major part played by author Roland Chappell’s wife, Janie, and their daughter, Ruth Ann. From a background of rural life and a real hesitation to follow God’s call, the story relates how God supplied, led, and used unlikely people to display His divine providence. This story traces their journey from the struggle of early ministry to an unlikely trip to Texas that God provided when there seemed to be no way. The chimes of praise to God are due throughout the lives of these three servants. Any who doubt the mercy, love, or providence of God will find reason to renew their faith through this story told with a conservation of words. The story shares the joys of growing up in rural Arkansas with all of the adventures provided in the Mississippi River Delta. There are adventures in education, ministry, marriage, and experiencing the seeming miraculous activity of God. For example, Ruth Ann was born with brain damage from birth and told of all the things that she could never do. Today, she has finished college, extended her education, taught twelve years in kindergarten and now teaches special needs children. The only explanation for this achievement is her determination and the intervention of God. Then, God provided for Janie through years of brittle diabetes and repeatedly provided healing for Roland when most had given up any hope of recovery. Chapell hopes that any who read these words will be entertained, enlightened, and encouraged.
