Core 1 Driftwood Coffee Table
Inspired by the environmental art of famed British artist, Andy Goldsworthy, and in connectionwith the Naturalist Study explored this year, Core 1 students have created a driftwood coffeetable. During Spring break, families gathered driftwood from beaches near and far, includingSanta Monica, Santa Barbara, and even Hawaii. The students worked on cleaning the individualdriftwood pieces and treated each with natural tung oil to protect the wood's surface and helpbring out its natural luster. They then arranged the driftwood like puzzle pieces, keeping inmind that each piece has its perfect place. The final artwork is a unique driftwood assemblageset on a beautiful repurposed glass top table. Special thanks to: Tina Bulchand, JuliannaOstrovsky, Audrey Sternberg, Kim Turner, Lisa Kahn, Stephanie Caspian, Candis, Chrysta,Graciela, Jackie, Core 1 Reps, and all Core 1 families.
