Thelandinggearconsistsofaforwardretractingnosegearandtwoinboardretractingmaingears.Theyarehydraulicallyoperated.Geardoorsenclosethelandinggearbays.Eachmaingearassemblyhasanhydraulic/nitrogenshockabsorber,andisequippedwithafourwheel,twinbogie.Eachmainwheelisfittedwithwheelbrakeswithantiskid.Apitchdamperoneachbogiebeamdampsthemovementandensuresreturntoneutralposition,whenRthelandinggearisfreeoftherunwaysurface.Avisualindicatingdeviceisfittedtoeachpitchdamperandincaseofabnormallowpressurearedpinisinview.Thetwo-wheelnosegearassemblyincludesanhydraulic/nitrogenshockstrutandanosewheelsteeringsystem.Allgeardoorsopenduringlandinggeartransit.Thehydraulicallyoperateddoorscloseeachtimethelandinggearisfullyretractedorextended.Thedoors,whicharefittedtothelandinggearstruts,aremechanicallyoperatedbythegear,closeattheendofgearretraction.Landinggearcontrolsandindicatorsarelocatedinthecockpitonthecenterinstrumentpanelandtheoverheadpanel.Forgravityextensionincaseofhydraulicorelectricalpowersupplyfailure,ahandcrankisstowedintheRHsideconsoleandaprotectedfittingisprovidedinthecockpitfloor.Mechanicalmeansforvisualconfirmationoflandinggeardownandlockedareinstalledineachwingandonthenosegearstrut.Atailskidisprovidedtopreventorlimitstructuraldamagetotheaftaircraftstructureincaseoftakeofforlandingwithexcessivenose-upattitude.

Landinggearnormalextensionandretractioniscontrolledthrougha3-latched-positionleverlocatedonthecenterinstrumentpanel.PowerissuppliedbyGreenhydraulicsystem.Thegearelectrovalveiscontrolledbythelandinggear1lever.Itdistributesgreenpressuretoretractionorextensionline.Thedoorsequencevalvesarecontrolledbythegear]uplockmechanismsandallowdooropeningorclosing.Thegearsequencevalvesarecontrolledbythedoor1openpositionandallowgearextensionorretraction.
Sequenceprinciple
Gearretraction(orextension):ThelandinggearleverisselectedUP(orDOWN).Thegearelectrovalvesuppliesretraction(orextensiOn)]linewithgreenpressure.Thedoorsareunlocked.

ThedoorsequencevalvesallowdooropeningbY]actuators.Whenthedoorsarefullyopen,theiractuatorsremainpressurizedopenandthegearsequencevalvesopen,whichresultsin:-gearunlocking,-gearretraction(orextension)byactuators.Whenfullyretracted(orextended),thegearsar~Rlocked(actuatorsnomorepressurizedinretractedposition).ThedoorsequencevalvesallowdoorclosingbY]actuatorWhenfullyclosed,thedoorsarelockedandthenjactuatorsremainpressurizedclosed.ThelandinggearleverisselectedNeutral.

Thelandinggearextendsundergravityaction.Downlockingisassistedbylockingspringsforthemaingearandaerodynamicforcesforthenosegear.Thegeardoorsremainopen.Aprocedureisprovidedforrestoringthelandinggear1tonormaloperatingconditiontoenablegearretractionafteragravityextensionduringtrainingflights.
LANDINGGEARDOORGROUNDOPENING
Formaintenancereasons,eachgeardoorcanbeopenedseparatelybymeansofaleverlocatednearthedoor.Operatingthelever,isolatesthedoorclosingline,interconnectstheactuatingcylinderchambersandreleasesthedooruplock,thedoorfreefallstoopenposition.WhentheleverisreturnedtoCLOSEDposition,doorclosureisachievedunderGreenhydraulicpressurewiththelandinggearnormalcontrolleverinDOWNposition.
