Regrets, ah Ive had a few Social norms, the things that are socially mediated, are more on-average

than normal. The decent act is more often original than observed or followed, which is why the opposite extreme to selfishness is groupfulness (observance of socially mediated averages devoid of conscience). If you are unable or unwilling to set precedent, that is act without recourse to socially mediated norms of acceptability then you have made a decision to judge only others and not yourself, rendering your sense of judgment meaningless. The conscience is more than just a seat for guilt; or the rhetoric of some ill-conceived, all knowing, all seeing god. Your conscience is the margin by which your regrets increase your potential. If you have no regrets, chances are you also have a small conscience, less originality and an even smaller presence in the universe.
