We will also be celebrating the summer solstice, marking the shortest night of the year, with a look at the magic of pagan midsummer. A previous walker said about the Midnight Walk: It was brilliant, I really liked it. I love the Midnight Walk, its so nice and cool.... Its inspiring to learn about the area I live in. Southwark is not very famous from a touristic point of view and has a bad reputation, but there is so much history. I came to learn new things and liked the quirky stories. Join CoolTan Arts for a guided Summer Solstice Midnight walk, where you can explore the urban psycho-geography of South London and learn about local history and familiar landmarks under the moonlight. Participate in this unique procession from the powerhouse Tate Modern to the home of contemporary psychiatry, the Maudsley Hospital. At the end of the walk, well have the opportunity to rest at the chapel of Maudsley Hospital.
