CERN Accelerator School and ESS-Bilbao
High Power Hadron Machines
Hotel Barceló Nervión, Bilbao, Spain
This course will mainly be of interest to staff in accelerator laboratories, universitydepartments and companies manufacturing specialised accelerator equipment.
The course will focus on specicities of both linear and circular machines dealing
with high power beams. After an introduction of the basic requirements, theparticular aspects of high power beams on core topics such as beam dynamics, space charge, RF, vacuum, beam diagnostics, sources and cryogenics will betreated as a function of the different types of accelerators.Considerations on the experience accumulated during the commissioning ofrecent projects as well as a realistic case study will complete the programme.
