Allow me to take this time to update you on how God has led me on to the next chapter in my life.
Many of you joined me last summer on my service trip toSouth Africa through prayer and financial assistance, and Iwant to thank you. God used you in a unique way lastsummer! I built amazing relationships with Lourens and ElsaMaritz (pictured above) and many other individuals in their community. I am excited to see how God will use thosefriendships for future investment in South Africa. He hasalready given me opportunities to write about my experiences, which are on my blog: trevinhoekzema.blogspot.com. As myheart for South Africa and the development of poor communities has grown, so has my involvement with humanimpact organizations. The chart is a list of those experiences.I am always amazed when I think back on how Godhas used me to further his kingdom. After some quickmath, some of you have been on this journey with mefor an entire seven years! Again, God has used youin a very unique way. As each of those experiencesshown above led into the next one, I find myself making decisions everyday to progress toward a lifeof social and spiritual impact. At the University of Maryland, I created a major that just got approved! (It took a year of planning andwriting). I am officially majoring in
. The major will give me thetools to positively affect developing communitiesaround the world through sustainable means. Thissummer, I have the opportunity to start making animpact locally in Baltimore, Maryland.
