ABSTRACT
The subject of this dissertation is to create a concept mapping activities authoring tool.
Concept Maps are graphical tools for organizing and representing knowledge. In
addition, they have been used as a didactic approach and educational strategy that
improve the meaningful learning of students. The aim of the system is threesome.
Firstly, the user of the system can create activities on subject matters that the students
can work out in COMPASS educational tool. Secondly, educators can watch the
educative progress of students and finally, the administrator of the system can define
the activity evaluation framework. The authoring tool is developed in Visual Basic Net
2002 and uses the XML language for the representation of the concept maps.

Subject Area: Educational Software

Keywords: concept, link, educational activity, educational tool, concept mapping.
