Wearecommittedtohelpingchildrenlearntoenjoyandexcelinmathematics.Ourgoalistogivechildrenastrongfundamentalbasisinmathematicsandhelpthemreachtheirfullpotential.TheMathMonkeyCurriculumaimstoopenachildsmindtothenaturalorderofthesurroundingenvironment,leadingthechildtonotonlyappreciatemath,butalsowanttocontinueinvestigatingitsmanywondroususes.Wemoveawayfromtheconventional"drilling"methodofteachingmathandtoinstilltheloveofmathinchildren,whowillleadthenextgenerationintechnologicaladvancesandthepracticalintegrationofthattechnology.Weteachmorethanjustmath.Ourcompetitivegamessessionsencouragechildrentothinkontheirfeetandnurturementalagility,creativeness,independenceandsportsmanshipinthem.TheclassroomapproachusedtoteachtheMathMonkeyVedicMathcurriculumissimilartotheRealisticMathematicsEducation(RME)philosophydevelopedbytheFreudenthalInstituteinTheNetherlands.Thisphilosophystressestheideaofmathematicsasahumanactivity,meaningthefocalpointshouldbeontheprocessof"mathematization"ratherthanasasubjecttobetransmitted.
MathMonkeyCurriculumwillhelpabove-averagestudentsreachtheirfullpotential;helpaveragestudentsexcel;andevenhelpbelow-averagestudentsbegintounderstandmathforthefirsttime.

BasedonthephilosophythatFUNisthekeytolearning,MathMonkeyisanageappropriate,gamebasedcurriculumofmentalgymnastics.AtMathMonkeyKnowledgeCenters,mathisahumanactivity.ThefocalpointoftheMathMonkeycurriculumisontheprocessofdoingmath.Weekly,MathMonkeystudentsplaygamestosolvemathproblems,whichintegratetheconceptofVedicMaths.Theyareencouragedtothinkontheirfeetinordertoplaythegames.Throughthegames,thechildrensmathskills,aswellastheirownmentalagilityimprove.TheMathMonkeyCurriculumistheculminationofProfessorKennethWilliams36yearsofresearchandteachingexperienceinthefieldofVedicMath.Widelyregardedasthe"guru"ofVedicMath,ProfessorWilliamsbelievesthatchildrenshouldn'thavetorelyonacalculatororpencilandpaperforsomethingthemindiscapableofdoingwithoutthem.TherearethreecomponentstotheMathMonkeyprogramthatcreateexcited,engagedchildren,aswellasnurturedisciplinedmindscapableofusingmathasasecondlanguage,andapplyingthatdisciplinetootheracademicsforalifetime:

Thefirstcomponent-andtheguidingforceinMathMonkeyclasses-istheuseofgames,whichintegratetheconceptsofMental(Vedic)Math.Childrenareencouragedtothinkontheirfeetinordertoplaythegamesathand.Asaresult,learningoccursandmathskillsaregreatlyenhanced.2.ThesecondcomponenttoMathMonkeyclassesisthehoningofconcentra-tionandmemoryskills.Classesareconductedprimarilywithouttheuseofpencilandpaperandthechildrenparticipatingarecontinuouslyencouragedtoholdthenumbersintheirmind,inordertobuildtheirmentalmathskills.3.Thethirdcomponentisthecontinuedlearningencouragedathome.Studentsreceiveaweeklyassignmenttobecompletedathomebetweenclasses.Thisallowspracticebetweensessions,aswellasprovidestheteacherwithfeed-backonthestudentsretentionandprogress.
