RoseDQ in Third Person
When I first started the teen/adult discussion group in my home, I would talk about quotes from RoseDQ, like she was some kind of famous person or something. And my daughter would say,“Mom, that's just weird that you talk about RoseDQ in the third person; RoseDQ is you.” RoseDQ is me? Interesting question. And maybe the answer is – RoseDQ is my BEST self, the person I am working toward becoming. Like any good alter ego, she did what I was not yet strong enough or brave enough to do.I am proud of her strength and courage, her resilience, her energy, her positive attitude , her openness, and her wisdom! I am proud of her accomplishments as a writer.I can say I am proud of HER! And maybe eventually, I will let myself say – I am proud of ME! But I don't know that being proud is what I am really trying to say. What I mean more precisely is that we (RoseDQ and I) are letting ourselves experience that very special joyfulness that comes from giving the gifts God has given us back to Him for His purpose!
